Ripple is the catchall name for the cryptocurrency platform, the transactional protocol for which is actually XRP, in the same fashion as Ethereum is the name for the platform that facilitates trades in Ether. Like other cryptocurrencies, Ripple is built atop the idea of a distributed ledger network which requires various parties to participate in validating transactions, rather than any singular centralized authority. That facilitates transactions all over the world, and transfer fees are far cheaper than the likes of bitcoin. Unlike other cryptocurrencies, XRP transfers are effectively immediate, requiring no typical confirmation time.  Ripple was originally founded by a single company, Ripple Labs, and continues to be backed by it, rather than the larger network of developers that continue bitcoin’s development. It also doesn’t have a fluctuating amount of its currency in existence. Where bitcoin has a continually growing pool with an eventual maximum, and Ethereum theoretically has no limit, Ripple was created with all of its 100 billion XRP tokens right out of the gate. That number is maintained with no mining and most of the tokens are owned and held by Ripple Labs itself — around 60 billion at the latest count.  Even at the recently reduced value of around half a dollar per XRP, that means Ripple Labs is currently sitting on around $20 billion worth of the cryptocurrency (note: Ripple’s price crashed hard recently, and may be worth far less than $60 billion by time you read this). It holds 55 billion XRP in an escrow account, which allows it to sell up to a billion per month if it so chooses in order to fund new projects and acquisitions. Selling such an amount would likely have a drastic effect on the cryptocurrency’s value, and isn’t something Ripple Labs plans to do anytime soon.  In actuality, Ripple Labs is looking to leverage the technology behind XRP to allow for faster banking transactions around the world. While Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are built on the idea of separating financial transactions from the financial organizations of traditional currencies, Ripple is almost the opposite in every sense. He said the stock is well-positioned to capitalize on elevated demand for AI use cases over the next 12-18 months. The analyst maintained an ‘Outperform’ rating for the stock.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Snowflake On Track For Growth Acceleration</h2>Ives opined that Snowflake has “ample” room to accelerate growth by fine-tuning its”go-to-market” strategy that combines “recent engineering, innovations, and marketing” to further scale its core capabilities. According to the analyst, the company is still in the early innings of capitalizing on artificial intelligence (AI) demand. He noted that the company was experiencing stronger deal flow, with 50% of the logos leveraging Snow for AI cases and 25% of organizations leveraging its AI capabilities on a weekly basis.“SNOW continues to put an emphasis on retrieval quality for AI within Cortex to let users do more with their data early in the data life cycle to bring together data into one unified view to optimize workflows, and optimize efficiencies,” Ives said.Ives believes the company is well-positioned to capitalize on elevated demand for AI use cases over the next 12-18 months.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Analyst Brace For Solid Q3 Print</h2>Ives's ation marked&nbsp; a back-to-back upward price target adjustment for Snowflake. Last Friday, Oppenheimer analyst Ittai Kidron lifted his price target from $295 to $175 and maintained an ‘Outperform’ rating, the Fly reported. He attributed his optimism to his belief that the company will report solid quarterly results among the analytics, data, infrastructure and security group. Most of these AI researchers have been tapped by Meta for its Superintelligence lab group that was set up this year to expedite the move toward artificial general intelligence (AGI).What's Next With Apple's AI Initiatives?According to Bloomberg, the AKI team will now be placed under Giannandrea's deputy Benoit Dupin, who is currently overseeing ML-related cloud infrastructure. Wedbush tech analyst Daniel Ives believes the AI monetization piece could add $75 to $100 per share to the Apple story over the coming few years. SoftBank Group Corp. (SFTBY), the Japanese investment holding company led by Masayoshi Son, is reportedly offering shares of its Arm Holdings Plc. (ARM) subsidiary as collateral to finance an investment in U.S. artificial intelligence (AI) startup and Stargate project partner OpenAI.Minato, Tokyo-based SoftBank is nearing a deal with a few lenders for a margin loan, amounting to $5 billion, offering shares of Arm as collateral security, Bloomberg&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-10-10/softbank-in-talks-for-5-billion-margin-loan-backed-by-arm-stock">reported,</a> citing people familiar with the matter. The debt raised through the margin loan would go toward additional investment in&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/OPENAI">OpenAI</a>, the report added. The total margin loans from Arm shares would now be $18.5 billion, including the $13.5 billion raised previously. Of the $13.5 billion, $5 billion is yet to be drawn, the report said.<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/ARM">Arm stock</a> has added 38.3% this year, thanks to its exposure to AI, while the<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/SFTBY"> SoftBank stock</a>, traded over the counter in the U.S., has jumped 160%. While the former has elicited ‘extremely bullish’ sentiment from among the users of the Stocktwits platform as of early Friday, retail mood toward the latter remained ‘bearish.’ The message volume on the Arm stream was ‘extremely high,’ while that on the SoftBank stream was ‘high.’The Son-led company sponsors tech-focused venture capital funds branded as “Vision Funds,” which primarily invest in both private and public tech companies. Specifically, the Vision Fund 2 was set up in 2019 to invest in AI-driven ventures and later-stage technology companies.While speaking at SoftBank’s annual shareholder meeting held in July, Son expressed hopes to transform his company into the “world’s top platformer for ASI [artificial super intelligence],” as he believed that it would be a winner-takes-all arena. “I’m all in,” he had said. British chipmaker Arm is an AI-leveraged company in its own right, and SoftBank has also acquired a U.K.-based AI accelerator manufacturer.SoftBank and OpenAI are lead partners in the private Stargate AI project announced by President Donald Trump just after his inauguration. IBM Stock On Track To Hit All-Time Highs On Anthropic Deal

An equity strategist&nbsp;is weighing all his market optimism on third-quarter earnings, thanks to the ongoing momentum seen in artificial intelligence (AI).&nbsp;While appearing on CNBC’s “Fast Money” segment, Wells Fargo Chief Equity Strategist Ohsung Kwon&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PjGOpP5730">said</a> AI matters more to the market than the Fed. The strategist, however, acknowledged the importance of rate cuts in broadening the rally.The strategist noted that in the run-up to the Fed’s September meeting, easing trade happened, with small-cap and homebuilders finding favor among investors. Now that the Fed is officially in an easing cycle, traders are selling the news and rotating back into AI, he added. “I think outside of AI, I'm not really excited about anything,” Kwon said.&nbsp;He believes that for the rally to broaden, the manufacturing purchasing managers’ index (PMI) must exceed 50. “I don’t really see that happening unless rates fall more from here because this has been the most rate-sensitive manufacturing cycle in history,” he added. Wells Fargo forecasts two rate cuts this year and another two next year.Thanks to an AI-fueled rally on the back of AMD’s (AMD) OpenAI deal, the S&amp;P 500 and the major tech indices hit another fresh record. For the year-to-date (YTD) period, the&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/SPY">SPDR S&amp;P 500 ETF (SPY)</a>, an exchange-traded fund (ETF) that tracks the S&amp;P 500 Index, and the&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/QQQ">Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ)</a> have gained 15.6% and 19.3%, respectively.&nbsp;On Stocktwits, retail traders remained cautious, with the sentiment toward both the SPY and QQQ ETF remaining ‘bearish’ by late Monday. The message volume on the SPY stream remained ‘high,’ while that on the QQQ was at ‘normal’ levels.&nbsp;The&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/AIQ">Global X Artificial Intelligence &amp; Technology ETF (AIQ)</a> has gained over 32% for the year, while the&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/MAGS">Roundhill Magnificent Seven ETF (MAGS)</a>, which tracks seven mega-cap tech stocks with exposure to AI, has risen 20%.&nbsp;The research firm predicts a 4% earnings beat, on average, for the upcoming reporting season, based on its modeling that analyzed approximately 350 macro variables, led by AI and semiconductor companies. He also said that tariffs didn’t significantly impact the third-quarter results. “I think it's more of a Q4 event and into Q1 because companies carry about 65 days of inventory at the end of Q2, which means that since Aug. 7, their inventories are going to run out in the middle of October to November.”Given his expectations that earnings will grow 11% this year and the next and another 12% in 2027, the strategist predicts low-teens returns for the S&amp;P 500 companies without any multiple growth.
