$IONS Ionis got two good pieces of news in about a day and the stock still closed down Friday. UBS upgraded it to Buy on Thursday and raised its target to 88 from 46. Then the CHMP recommended expanding TRYNGOLZA in the EU for severe hypertriglyceridemia (triglycerides at or above 880 mg/dL), ahead of the timeline Ionis had expected. Final European Commission decision is expected in Q4. The trial data behind it: placebo-adjusted triglyceride cuts of up to 72% at six months in CORE and CORE2, and an 85% reduction in acute pancreatitis events over 12 months pooled. One nuance on the EU piece: Sobi holds the commercialization rights outside the US, Canada and China, so for Ionis this is partner economics, not direct EU sales. Stock closed Friday at 42.94, down 2.7%, down about 46% year to date and pretty close to the 52-week low of 42.08.

$IONS ... wow... retracing to a range that I was buying at back in 2025.... trimmed in the 70's so can rebuy soon and hold.... can these get cheaper?

Preclinical evidence shows what a therapy may be capable of. Clinical evaluation begins to show how it performs in patients. Across biotech, that transition is critical—from RNA-targeted medicines at $IONS to gene-editing approaches at $CRSP. For $PPCB, February 2027 is targeted to mark that next step, with PRP’s Phase 1b First-In-Human study evaluating safety, tolerability, PK, PD and preliminary antitumor activity in up to 50 patients.
