Eighteen rhesus macaques with radiographically conrmed multi-joint OA were
selected. Prior to and after injections, mobility was assessed using walking speed,
accelerometry, blinded subjective clinical scoring, reach testing, and goniometry. Data
was assessed using equivalence testing, as well as mixed-effects model statistics.
Preliminary analyses demonstrated signicant improvements in walking speed
following treatment. Walking speed increased in 91.6% of treated animals, with a mean
improvement of 0.22 ± 0.11 m/s (median 0.21 m/s; range 0.03–0.41 m/s). Mixed-effects
modeling demonstrated a signicant effect of timepoint on walking speed (F₃,₃₃ = 18.24,
p < 0.000001). Compared with baseline, walking speed was signicantly increased at
week 1 (p = 0.0002), week 2 (p < 0.0001), and week 3 (p < 0.0001).
