$PEW AI: "The ATF’s proposed rule for direct-to-consumer, non-over-the-counter (NOTC) firearm transactions is projected to be enacted as a final rule between late 2026 and early 2027."
It is just logical to me that firearm companies would be moving increasingly to online sales. I'm all for making sure of the identity of firearm purchasers. But there are so many plausible ways of assuring facial recognition with driver's license id photos, etc. nowadays.
PEW didn't just start preparing for this sort of thing.
They've been an online retailer for going on 2 decades, using brick and mortar FFL's to finish the deal. So, it's not their fault they are poised for the changes...and the logistics business is a natural extension of years long preparation, IMO. But, their visionary business approach...normally applauded in business...makes them anathema to those who don't want to see the 2A strengthened. How will it all play out? It sounds like we'll know before next year is too far underway. JMO
