$Z renters: the Nour suit brings five claims, including tortious interference, alleging Zillow's Transaction Fee acted as undisclosed extra rent that disrupted leases with landlords. Lawsuit stage, nothing to claim. Open Class Actions.

$Z: the Zillow rent-fee suit leans on FTC guidance. It cites the FTC view that a pre-checked box is not consent, plus a 2023 warning to rental software firms over hidden fees. No class certified, nothing to claim. Open Class Actions.

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday rejected Zillow Group’s request to dismiss a class-action lawsuit accusing the company of misleading investors about its home-buying business, allowing a 2021 case to proceed in federal court in Washington state. The case concerns the legal defenses available to public companies accused of making false statements to investors. Plaintiffs allege Zillow executives made overly optimistic statements about Zillow Offers in the months before the company shut down the division. Zillow closed Zillow Offers in November 2021 after acknowledging it could not reliably forecast future home prices. The company recorded a $300 million inventory write-down and announced plans to cut its workforce by 25%. Its shares fell sharply following the announcement. The lawsuit argues that statements by then-CEO and other executives misrepresented the outlook for the business and helped prevent the stock from declining. $Z $ZG

$Z You buy a $600,000 house with a $120K down payment. You think it cost a little extra after 30 years, but you end up paying $698,800.61 in just interest to the bank. That's ignoring property taxes (which always increase) and insurance (always inflates). The system is rigged to keep you a worker for life 🙇🏾
