It also saw ‘bearish’ retail sentiment, with message volumes at ‘low’ levels, over the past day.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">Strategy Buys More Bitcoin</h2>Strategy acquired only $18.8 million worth of additional BTC on Monday, amounting to around 168 tokens. This is the company's smallest Bitcoin purchase since August. In March, the company also announced a $10.7 million purchase.&nbsp;It is worth noting that the company announced its biggest purchases of the year in July and August of $2.5 billion and $2.46 billion, worth of Bitcoin, respectively.One retail trader said MSTR’s stock, known for being a Bitcoin proxy, will rally again once the leading cryptocurrency’s price recovers to $130,000.&nbsp;<a href="http://stocktwits.com/symbol/BTC.X">Bitcoin’s price</a> was trading at around $110,00 at the time of writing, up 0.7% in the last 24 hours. Strategy Makes Smallest Bitcoin Buy Since August, While BitMine’s ETH Holdings Surpass 3 Million

BitMine Immersion’s Ethereum holdings crossed 3 million tokens, now holding over $13 billion in combined assets.

Kerrisdale Capital on Wednesday disclosed a short position on Tom Lee-led Bitmine Immersion Technologies (BMNR), stating that the digital asset treasury (DAT) playbook has become “basic and unoriginal.”<a href="http://stocktwits.com/symbol/BMNR">BMNR’s stock</a> continued to gain in morning trade, up 1.5%. Retail sentiment on Stocktwits, however, dipped to ‘neutral’ from ‘bullish’ over the past day.The equities market has seen a surge in companies pivoting to holding cryptocurrencies on their balance sheets as the Trump administration took a friendlier stance on regulation. “As near-idential copycats overwhelm the market, premiums are collapsing and the ability to issue shares well above NAV to boost&nbsp;ETH-per-share is disappearing,” the research firm said.Kerrisdale Capital pointed to Michael Saylor-backed Strategy (MSTR) as an example of reducing net asset value (NAV). “The OG DAT, MSTR, has seen its premium slide from 2-2.5x NAV to around 1.4x after unpopular financings &amp; policy reversals broke the spell,” it said. “If the pioneer with a cult following can’t keep the magic alive, no one can.”It added that BMNR’s&nbsp;premium has also been sliding lower, and will probably “continue bleeding” until it reaches or falls below the NAV. “The lower it goes, the slower the ETH-per-share accretion, until it collapses below 1,” the firm said.BMNR is currently the largest Ethereum holding DAT in the market with more than&nbsp;two million tokens in its treasury, followed by SharpLink (SBET),&nbsp;which has around 800 million tokens. According CoinGecko data, there are around 13 companies with Ethereum on their balance sheets. This includes companies like Fundamental Global (FGNX) and BitDigital (BTBT),&nbsp;which also announced the&nbsp;inclusion of&nbsp;Ethereum as a part of their long-term treasury strategy this year.In addition to reducing returns, Kerrisdale Capital also critiqued Lee’s leadership. “Tom Lee has proven to be an underwhelming meme lord. No cat videos. No speeches to mortgage your house to buy ETH,” it said. “Poor utilization of caps lock, emojis, GIFs, AI slop. Too TradFi and boring, Lee pales in comparison to Saylor and Chamath [Palihapitiya].”The firm clarified that it’s not short on Ethereum but&nbsp;that it is skeptical of BMNR because the company’s “whole pitch is to get investors to overpay for copying a playbook that no longer works.”&nbsp;<a href="http://stocktwits.com/symbol/ETH.X">Ethereum’s price</a> was trading at around $4,500 in early morning trade after more than 4% in the last 24 hours.Meanwhile, Consensys co-founder Joseph Lubin reportedly said that Ethereum (ETH)-holding digital asset treasury (DAT) companies could evolve into the “Berkshire Hathaway” as the financial landscape shifts.“The real opportunity is to be the Berkshire Hathaway of the next global economy, the more decentralized global economy,” he&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://cointelegraph.com/news/ethereum-dats-the-next-berkshire-hathaway-consensys-founder">told</a> CoinTelegraph on sidelines of Token2049 in Singapore. MARA’s stock fell 0.44%, while RIOT’s stock climbed more than 0.37%. BNB Token Surges To Record High, Overtakes XRP As Third-Largest Cryptocurrency

With a market capitalization of about $180 billion, BNB now ranks ahead of XRP, whose value stands at roughly $178 billion.

Crypto liquidations topped $1 billion on Friday for the second time this week as Bitcoin (BTC) slid below $109,000.According to Coinglass&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.coinglass.com/LiquidationData">data</a>, 24-hour liquidations later eased to $970 million, led by Ethereum (ETH) at $312 million and Bitcoin at $244 million, after briefly spiking as high as $1.5 billion earlier in the day.&nbsp;Meanwhile, Deribit data&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://x.com/DeribitOfficial/status/1971158176310382791">indicates</a> more than $22 billion in crypto options are set to expire on Friday, with most of the open interest concentrated on calls. According to the exchange, this is “one of the largest” quarter-end expiries and the largest expiry of the third quarter (Q3) this year.&nbsp;<a href="http://stocktwits.com/symbol/BTC.X">Bitcoin’s price</a> traded around $108,949, off 2.3% in the past 24 hours and 12.2% below its August record high above $124,000, according to CoinGecko data. Crypto Options Worth $22B To Expire Friday As Bitcoin Slips Below $109K – Solana Leads Altcoin Losses

The pullback comes ahead of the August release of the Personal Consumption Expenditures price index, due later this Friday. 

GSR, a crypto market-making firm, filed with the SEC on Wednesday to launch the first ETF designed to track public companies that maintain cryptocurrency on their balance sheets.&nbsp;The proposed GSR Digital Asset Treasury Companies ETF would offer investors a way to access firms that have raised equity to purchase digital assets and keep them on their balance sheets.&nbsp;According to the SEC&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1771146/000199937125013876/gsr-485apos_092425.htm#gsr485aposa001">filing</a>, companies would be weighted based on market capitalization and crypto holdings, with periodic reviews to ensure the ETF reflects meaningful digital asset exposure. The fund would also allocate up to 15% to private investments in public equity (PIPEs), subject to ETF liquidity restrictions. The initiative marks GSR’s first foray into ETFs and is part of its newly formed US asset-management division, which recently opened a New York office.Similar ETFs already exist for Bitcoin-focused firms. Grayscale Bitcoin Adopters ETF (BCOR) tracks companies holding BTC on their treasuries, while REX Bitcoin Corporate Treasury Convertible Bond ETF (<a href="http://stocktwits.com/symbol/BMAX">BMAX</a>) targets convertible bonds issued by those firms.&nbsp;GSR’s offering would formalize the strategy into a broader, multi-asset approach at a time when the regulatory environment is becoming more crypto-friendly under the Trump administration.&nbsp;Michael Saylor-backed Strategy (MSTR) pioneered the Bitcoin (BTC)-based corporate treasury strategy and currently holds over 639,800 BTC, reflecting an unrealized gain of roughly 53%.
