Adani Total Gas says supply hit due to Middle East war
MUMBAI: Adani Total Gas said Wednesday that gas deliveries to industrial customers in India had been impacted after its own supply was partly curtailed due to the Middle East war. The joint venture between India’s Adani Group and France’s TotalEnergies is a key supplier of natural gas to industries, homes and vehicles in the world’s most populous nation. “Some of the gas suppliers of the company have curtailed the gas supply, which in turn has impacted our supplies to industrial customers,” the firm said in a stock exchange notification. The filing said it was “assessing” the impact of the development, and Indian government orders to more closely control the distribution of natural gas. India is the world’s fourth largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) buyer, and second-largest buyer of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), such as that used for cooking – much of which is sourced from the Middle East. READ MORE: India GAIL buys Oman LNG cargo, sources say As supplies become tighter, New Delhi has sought to prioritise the needs of households, transport and other essential sectors such as hospitals.
