Bloomberg reports that the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) plans to require Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to have lenders obtain credit data from two major credit bureaus instead of three. FHFA Director Bill Pulte has repeatedly pushed for lower credit-reporting and scoring costs in the mortgage market, and the new requirement could be announced on Oct. 12 at a mortgage industry conference in Chicago. The potential shift would further reshape the mortgage-credit market. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac lenders have traditionally relied on “tri-merge” reports combining data from Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. A “bi-merge” system could reduce demand for three-bureau reports while lowering costs for mortgage borrowers. The move also comes as FICO faces increased competition from VantageScore, which was recently placed on the same mortgage-pricing grid as the traditional FICO Classic score. $FICO $FMCC $FNMA $TRU

$FICO $FICO if this drops to the 400s I go all in with everything I have home equity , maxing out all credit cards with cash advances , any unsecured personal loans I can get on the spot , borrowing money from friends and family that have it available .. anything to inquire shares … doing it all with zero risk on my behalf .. I mean, think about it. The Home is in my wife’s name, not my name so they can’t take a house from me that I don’t own. Credit cards are all unsecured debt so creditors are just have to suck that up same with personal loans if they’re all unsecured because the banks took a risk, they thought I was trustworthy, but I had no control of this thing goes belly up, so not my fault .. and honestly, I don’t give a shit about family or friends so all those fuckers will just have to suck it up and take the loss but that’s if this thing goes belly up on the other hand if it doesn’t go belly up then I make out like a bandit That’s how rich people do it

More Trade Updates. Added to my Fair Isaac position, bringing my total to 58 shares. I gave this one a lot of thought overnight before deciding to increase my exposure. It’s a risk I’m willing to take, especially given the opportunity I see here. Yesterday, I was up roughly $3.5K on the position. The stock pulled back a bit today, and my average moved slightly higher to $639 as I added while the position was already building. FICO’s pricing power, recurring revenue model, and central role in the U.S. credit ecosystem give the company a strong foundation for a recovery if growth remains intact and sentiment eventually turns. $FICO $SPY $QQQ $IWM $DIA

$FICO Shorts getting careless. Most recent news is just recycled. The fundamentals will match the pessimism. These positions will have to close and the float is not going to make it easy.

$FICO Up about 12% Thursday to near 660, two days after the worst single-day decline since 1989, a roughly 26% collapse when FHFA unified the mortgage pricing grid around VantageScore. Even after the bounce, it sits about 21% below Monday's close and 73% under its November 2024 record high. The bounce has a specific driver. FHFA chief Bill Pulte praised FICO's Direct License Program on X this week, the framework letting resellers buy scores directly at a 4.95 royalty plus a 33 fee per funded loan, instead of the flat 10 through the bureaus. But the same regulator is on both sides. After the close, Bloomberg reported FHFA plans to cut required mortgage credit pulls from three bureaus to two, possibly announced October 12. FICO fell about 7% after hours. The pricing question is unchanged: Jefferies estimates VantageScore could take upward of 80% of conforming-mortgage share under the new grid. Next data point: Pulte's October 12 speech at the Chicago mortgage industry conference.

$FICO You guys are crazy trying to price in a doomsday narrative right now. It’s all nonsense and the revenue isn’t going to dry up overnight or anytime sokn. There also has to be seen how the grid is even implemented.

$FICO FHFA allowing more competition. The good news for consumers is that they can save $9 on pulling their credit score. The bad news is that they will pay $90,000 more in interest on their home loan due to higher rates
