Litecoin uses the memory intensive Scrypt proof of work mining algorithm. Scrypt allows consumer-grade hardware such as GPU to mine those coins.  Why Litecoin? Litecoin is a cryptocurrency that has evolved from Bitcoin after its own popularity in the industry, this alternative, or ‘altcoin’ has emerged to allow investors to diversify their digital currency package, according to Investopedia. Litecoin is one of the most prominent altcoins and was created by former Google employee and Director of Engineering at Coinbase, Charlie Lee. Litecoin was the first to alter Bitcoin and the most significant difference is that it takes 2.5 minutes for Litecoin to generate a block, or transaction, in comparison to Bitcoin's 10 minutes.  ‘While this matters little to traders, miners who use hardware to run Bitcoin's network cannot switch over to Litecoin. This keeps bigger mining conglomerates away from Litecoin because they cannot easily optimize their profits by swapping to another coin, contributing to a more decentralized experience. Litecoin also has bigger blocks, and more coins in circulation, making it more affordable and swift when transacting,’ Investopedia explained.  As explained above, Litecoin can transact a lot faster than Bitcoin, but there are also a number of other characteristics that investors need to know before trading. Litecoin can handle higher volumes of transactions because of the capability of transacting faster and if Bitcoin attempted to transact on the scale of its altcoin, a code update would be needed. However, Litecoin’s blocks would be larger, but with more ‘orphaned blocks'. The faster block time of litecoin reduces the risk of double spending attacks - this is theoretical in the case of both networks having the same hashing power.  Litecoin Technical Details: The transaction confirmation time taken for Litecoin is about 2.5 minutes on average (as compared to Bitcoin's 10 minutes). The Litecoin network is scheduled to cap at 84 million currency units.   Litecoin has inspired many other popular alternative currencies (eg. Dogecoin) because of its Scrypt hashing algorithm in order to prevent ASIC miners from mining those coins. However it is said that by the end of this year, Scrypt ASIC will enter the mass market.

Despite the pullback, retail sentiment on Stocktwits around both leading tokens remained in ‘bullish’ territory amid ‘high’ levels of chatter over the past day.&nbsp;U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs saw $326.5 million in outflows on Monday, led by Grayscale’s GBTC with $145 million and Fidelity’s FBTC with $93 million, according&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://sosovalue.com/assets/etf/us-btc-spot">to</a> SoSoValue. Ethereum ETFs also recorded heavy redemptions, with $428.5 million in withdrawals on October 13—its largest single-day outflow in five weeks—driven by $310.1 million pulled from BlackRock’s ETHA.Altcoins, including Cardano (ADA), Ripple’s native token XRP (XRP), and Dogecoin (DOGE), also traded lower, each losing more than 6% in the last 24 hours.&nbsp;Binance Coin (BNB) was the worst hit among the top 10 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization.&nbsp;<a href="http://stocktwits.com/symbol/BNB.X">BNB’s price</a> fell more than 10.5% in the last 24 hours, trading at around $1,170 – 14% below its record high of more than $1,300 seen just last week. Michael Saylor-backed Strategy (MSTR) announced on Monday that it had bought around 3,081 Bitcoin (BTC) for $356 million over the past week.Strategy’s&nbsp;<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://assets.contentstack.io/v3/assets/bltf8d808d9b8cebd37/blta457fda90cf3345c/68abb51b7119ea801fdaf56e/form-8-k_08-25-2025.pdf">latest</a> Bitcoin purchase was made at an average price of about $115,000 per token, lifting its total holdings to 632,457 BTC acquired at an average of $73,500 each. The company has stepped up its buying pace after two weeks of relatively modest additions—430 BTC&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/strategy-expands-bitcoin-treasury-to-629-000-btc-with-latest-51-million-purchase/chsO9V5RdXG">last Monday</a> and 155 BTC the week before.&nbsp;The Bitcoin purchases were made using proceeds from the MSTR at-the-market (ATM) program, STRK ATM, and STRF ATM.&nbsp;Despite the Bitcoin buy,&nbsp;<a href="http://stocktwits.com/symbol/MSTR">Strategy’s stock</a> was down more than 4% in morning trade on Monday. On Stocktwits, retail sentiment around the shares moved lower but remained in ‘bullish’ territory as chatter also dipped to ‘normal’ from ‘high’ levels over the past day.&nbsp;The Bitcoin-proxy stock moved in tandem with the apex cryptocurrency.&nbsp;<a href="http://stocktwits.com/symbol/BTC.X">Bitcoin’s price</a> fell 2.8% over the last 24 hours, trading at around $111,300 at the time of writing–more than 10% below its recent record high of over $124,000, seen merely 12 days ago. This puts the value of Strategy’s treasury holdings at around $70 billion. Retail sentiment around Bitcoin on Stocktwits remained in ‘bearish’ territory.Strategy’s stock has dropped 14% so far this month, tracking volatility across the crypto market. On Stocktwits, retail sentiment around AVAX moved higher within ‘bullish’ territory amid ‘high’ levels of chatter.The move would allow the fund to trade publicly under the name Grayscale AVAX Trust ETF, giving investors exposure to AVAX through traditional brokerage accounts. Grayscale Seeks SEC Nod For Spot AVAX ETF 

The move would allow the fund to trade publicly under the name Grayscale AVAX Trust ETF, giving investors exposure to AVAX through traditional brokerage accounts.

Bitcoin prices slipped for two straight sessions after it ended Friday’s session just under $117,000, and the pullback prompted&nbsp;the digital currency’s&nbsp;evangelist and Strategy, Inc. CEO Michael Saylor to hawk the apex crypto.&nbsp;Economist Peter Schiff, however, wasn’t one to take the bait.In response to Saylor’s post on X that “Bitcoin is on sale,” Schiff said, “Says the man who leveraged up to go all-in on Bitcoin.”Strategy, formerly known as MicroStrategy, was founded in 1989 as a data mining software company and evolved into an enterprise analytics company. The Tysons Corner, Virginia-based company has since diversified into a bitcoin investment company, loading up its balance sheet with the most popular&nbsp;cryptocurrency.At the end of the second quarter, the company held 628,791 bitcoins at a total cost of $46.07 billion or $73,277 per bitcoin.Saylor, one of Strategy’s co-founders, has&nbsp;utilized a combination of stock offerings, including both common stock and preferred stock, as well as debt, to fund the company’s bitcoin purchase.&nbsp;In an X post on Friday, the Strategy CEO said, “Five years ago, $MSTR adopted the Bitcoin Standard.
