The LTC token is used for settling global payments, executing microtransactions through smaller units called litoshis, and diversifying digital portfolios with a highly liquid asset. New tokens are issued to miners as rewards for verifying blocks, though these rewards undergo a halving event approximately every four years to strictly control inflation. This process ensures the ledger maintains immutability, meaning records cannot be changed once they are saved to the global network.  Created by former Google engineer Charlie Lee, the project is supported by the Litecoin Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to ecosystem adoption. Unlike many venture-backed projects, it is maintained by a decentralized community of independent developers and a global network of miners. The project has seen recent institutional adoption, with entities like Lite Strategy and Luxxfolio Holdings adding significant amounts of LTC to their corporate treasuries as of late 2025.

Zcash employs trustless zero-knowledge proofs (Halo) within its Orchard shielded pool to verify transactions without revealing sender, receiver, or amount information.   Users can choose between transparent public transactions and shielded private transactions through Unified Addresses, which work with both types. The network is faster and cheaper than Bitcoin, with new blocks mined every 75 seconds and transaction fees typically just a fraction of a cent. Privacy adoption has surged in 2025, with over 30% of total ZEC supply now held in fully shielded pools.  Zcash was created by a group of scientists in 2013 who initially proposed Zerocoin as a privacy extension to Bitcoin before building a standalone protocol. The ecosystem operates with a self-funded development model where block rewards support independent teams through the Zcash Community Grants Committee and a new Coinholder-Controlled Fund.

Back in August 2021, Kumar Mangalam Birla wrote to the Centre offering to hand over his stake in Vodafone Idea (Vi) to any public sector entity that could save it. He then stepped down as chairman, making his exit from a company he could not, seemingly, rescue. On May 5, 2026, in a striking reversal, Birla returned as Non-Executive Chairman of Vodafone Idea, and markets welcomed him back with a 5.74 per cent surge in Vi's stock to a ₹11.42 high on May 6. Yesterday, Vi announced that Ravinder Takkar stepped down as Non-Executive Chairman but stays on as Non-Executive Vice Chairman, making space for Birla to formally lead the board. Birla returns to a company in far deeper distress than when he left. Vi's nine-month loss (April–December 2025) stands at ₹17,418 crore, its net worth is negative ₹87,744 crore, and its total debt is ₹2.09 lakh crore. Days before the chairmanship change, the Department of Telecommunications cut Vi's AGR dues by 27 per cent, from ₹87,695 crore to ₹64,046 crore, with repayments stretched to FY41 and no interest accruing on the revised amount.
