Zcash employs trustless zero-knowledge proofs (Halo) within its Orchard shielded pool to verify transactions without revealing sender, receiver, or amount information.   Users can choose between transparent public transactions and shielded private transactions through Unified Addresses, which work with both types. The network is faster and cheaper than Bitcoin, with new blocks mined every 75 seconds and transaction fees typically just a fraction of a cent. Privacy adoption has surged in 2025, with over 30% of total ZEC supply now held in fully shielded pools.  Zcash was created by a group of scientists in 2013 who initially proposed Zerocoin as a privacy extension to Bitcoin before building a standalone protocol. The ecosystem operates with a self-funded development model where block rewards support independent teams through the Zcash Community Grants Committee and a new Coinholder-Controlled Fund.

The LTC token is used for settling global payments, executing microtransactions through smaller units called litoshis, and diversifying digital portfolios with a highly liquid asset. New tokens are issued to miners as rewards for verifying blocks, though these rewards undergo a halving event approximately every four years to strictly control inflation. This process ensures the ledger maintains immutability, meaning records cannot be changed once they are saved to the global network.  Created by former Google engineer Charlie Lee, the project is supported by the Litecoin Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to ecosystem adoption. Unlike many venture-backed projects, it is maintained by a decentralized community of independent developers and a global network of miners. The project has seen recent institutional adoption, with entities like Lite Strategy and Luxxfolio Holdings adding significant amounts of LTC to their corporate treasuries as of late 2025.

Global credit guarantor bets big on India with $500 million plan, exec says

MUMBAI: GuarantCo, the credit-guarantee unit of the Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG), plans to increase its exposure to India, aiming to make the country its largest Asian market within three years, a senior official said on Monday. PIDG, a development finance institution backed by the U.K., Switzerland, Australia, France and others, mobilizes capital for sustainable infrastructure. GuarantCo specializes in partial credit guarantees to lower-rated firms in Africa and Asia, helping boost their ratings and access institutional money. The firm expects to provide guarantees worth $500 million in India’s climate and capital market deals by 2027, according to Nishant Kumar, managing director, Asia investments at GuarantCo and Asia head of coverage at PIDG. “Between 2025 and 2027, we would have deployed close to $500 million in guarantee capacity in India (including current guarantees),” Kumar said in an interview. GuarantCo’s increased focus on India comes as the country seeks to strengthen its credit enhancement ecosystem to attract significant foreign investment and bring down borrowing costs for lower-rated firms.
