Stifel upgraded STAAR Surgical from Hold to Buy and raised its price target to $31 from $28, citing an attractive entry point and potential for sustained, profitable double-digit revenue growth. Analyst Thomas Stephan expects a favorable product mix shift toward the higher-priced EVO+ implantable collamer lens in China, combined with easier year-over-year comparisons outside China, to drive a meaningful sales inflection in the second half of 2026. Stifel’s scenario analysis projects an 11% compound annual growth rate in sales from 2026 to 2028, above the roughly 8% consensus estimate. The upgrade also follows STAAR’s authorization of a $50 million share-repurchase program, funded by free cash flow and available cash, which management said reflects confidence in the company’s financial strength and view that the shares are undervalued. The company’s exposure to a recovering refractive market in China also supports the thesis. $STAA
