$GENB Generate Biomedicines signed a deal with Zealand Pharma Tuesday to develop AI-designed protein therapies for obesity and other metabolic diseases (Reuters). The structure is pretty back-ended. Generate gets 30 million dollars upfront and up to 35 million in early preclinical milestones, out of nearly 1.2 billion dollars in total potential milestones. Generate leads research through lead-candidate selection. Zealand takes over for clinical development, regulatory work and commercialization. Shares were up about 5% in extended trading.
