KKR agreed to acquire Gen II Fund Services for an enterprise value of $5.1 billion, expanding its exposure to the growing private-markets infrastructure and fund-administration business. KKR will purchase Gen II from Hg, General Atlantic and minority investors through its Core Private Equity strategy, while CEO and co-founder Steven Millner and the current management team will remain in place. The deal is expected to close in 2027, subject to regulatory approvals and customary conditions. Gen II provides fund administration, tax, compliance, treasury and technology services to more than 275 investment managers representing over $2 trillion in assets. Since Hg and General Atlantic invested in 2020, the company has expanded across the U.S. and Europe through organic growth and four strategic acquisitions, with revenue and EBITDA quadrupling. $KKR

$KKR KKR is down about 4.48 percent, near 87.35, and I can't point to a KKR specific headline for today. What I did read this week is a Reuters Breakingviews column arguing the golden era for private equity owned insurers may be ending, as competition squeezes the spread insurers earn between annuity payouts and investment yields. Apollo's net investment spread slipped from 1.9 percent in 2023 to 1.6 percent in 2025, and industry operating return on equity fell from nearly 13 percent to just over 8 percent this year. It's an opinion piece, not news, and I can't say it's driving today's selling. Alternative managers have also been pressured this year by private credit redemption worries. Worth watching how the group trades. Follow me for more on the alt managers.

$KKR KKR agreed Monday to buy Gen II Fund Services, the private-capital fund administrator, for 5.1 billion dollars in enterprise value including debt (Reuters, company release). Gen II does the tax, compliance, treasury, and technology work for more than 275 investment managers representing over 2 trillion dollars in private-fund capital. KKR is buying it from Hg and General Atlantic, which invested in 2020. Co-founder and CEO Steven Millner stays on. The deal is expected to close in 2027, through KKR's Core Private Equity strategy. One level down: this is not a fund or an asset. It is the administrative plumbing of the industry KKR sits on top of. Fund structures keep getting more complex, and the reporting and compliance layer has to be staffed whether deal flow is hot or not. Second one in five months: KKR bought Arctos in May in a deal initially valued at about 1.4 billion dollars. Tracking whether the pipes-of-private-markets thesis keeps building.

Activist investor Ancora Holdings Group has acquired a stake of more than 4% in UK self-storage operator Big Yellow Group and plans to push for a strategic review that could lead to a sale. Ancora argues the company is significantly undervalued and intends to attract financial and strategic buyers. The firm estimates Big Yellow trades at a 40% discount to net asset value, following a 28% share-price decline over the past year amid weak UK economic growth, a sluggish property market and capital-intensive development plans. However, Ancora believes the company’s London-focused portfolio offers strong pricing power and exposure to growing self-storage demand. Potential buyers include Heitman, Nuveen and KKR, as well as US self-storage REITs Public Storage and Extra Space Storage. Ancora also cited Blackstone’s previous unsuccessful privatization attempt, arguing that a properly managed sale process could generate significant interest and an attractive premium. $KKR

$KKR kkr must not be this much depreciated, kkr is well diversified pef which have double digit aum growth and FRE growth. We are under estimating the growth happening from other sector kkr have. And we must know that kkr's lending is focused on investment grade private lending not the high yeilding leverage bonds. If we consider the aum growth and caculate the fair stock price only by aum it must be 120 at least considering the valuation on 2020. Even in this High yeild spread and ccc spread hike we must consider that every sector kkr is now invested in had outperformed the benchmark.
