Bitcoin Cash is a hard fork of Bitcoin with a protocol upgrade to fix on-chain capacity. Bitcoin Cash intends to be a Bitcoin without Segregated Witness (SegWit) as soft fork, where upgrades of the protocol are done mainly through hard forks and without changing the original economic rules of the Bitcoin.  Bitcoin Cash (BCH) is released on 1st August 2017 as an upgraded version of the original Bitcoin Core software. The main upgrade is the increase in the block size limit from 1MB to 8MB. This makes for faster, cheaper transactions and a much smoother user experience.  Why was Bitcoin Cash Created?  The main objective of Bitcoin Cash is to to bring back the essential qualities of money inherent in the original Bitcoin software. Over the years, these qualities were filtered out of Bitcoin Core and progress was stifled by various people, organizations, and companies involved in Bitcoin protocol development. The result is that Bitcoin Core is currently unusable as money due to increasingly high fees per transactions and transfer times taking hours to complete. This is all because of the 1MB limitation of Bitcoin Core’s block size, causing it unable to accommodate to large number of transactions.  Essentially Bitcoin Cash is a community-activated upgrade (otherwise known as a hard fork) of Bitcoin that increased the block size to 8MB, solving the scaling issues that plague Bitcoin Core today. It also saw ‘bearish’ retail sentiment, with message volumes at ‘low’ levels, over the past day.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">Strategy Buys More Bitcoin</h2>Strategy acquired only $18.8 million worth of additional BTC on Monday, amounting to around 168 tokens. This is the company's smallest Bitcoin purchase since August. In March, the company also announced a $10.7 million purchase.&nbsp;It is worth noting that the company announced its biggest purchases of the year in July and August of $2.5 billion and $2.46 billion, worth of Bitcoin, respectively.One retail trader said MSTR’s stock, known for being a Bitcoin proxy, will rally again once the leading cryptocurrency’s price recovers to $130,000.&nbsp;<a href="http://stocktwits.com/symbol/BTC.X">Bitcoin’s price</a> was trading at around $110,00 at the time of writing, up 0.7% in the last 24 hours. In the latest trading session, Strategy (MSTR) closed at $300.67, marking a -4.69% move from the previous day.

Michael Saylor-backed Strategy (MSTR) announced on Monday that it had bought another 220 Bitcoin (BTC) over the past week for around $27.3 million, marking its first accumulation since Bitcoin hit a record high above $126,000 earlier this month.<a href="http://stocktwits.com/symbol/MSTR">MSTR’s stock</a> gained more than 1% in pre-market trade. However, retail sentiment around the largest Bitcoin-holding digital asset treasury (DAT) on Stocktwits dipped to ‘bearish’ from ‘neutral’ territory over the past day. Meanwhile,&nbsp;<a href="http://stocktwits.com/symbol/BTC.X">Bitcoin’s price</a> gained more than 2.5% in the last 24 hours and was trading at around $114,300 at the time of writing. Retail sentiment around the leading cryptocurrency trended in ‘bullish’ territory amid ‘high’ levels of chatter.The company said it acquired the tokens at an average price of about $123,561 per Bitcoin, bringing its total holdings to 640,250 BTC, worth approximately $47.4 billion at current prices.&nbsp;The acquisition was funded via its at-the-market (ATM) programs, which sold 170,663 STRF shares, 16,873 STRK shares, and 68,775 STRD shares, generating $27.3 million in proceeds.&nbsp;Strategy’s year-to-date Bitcoin yield now stands at 25.9%.Strategy was not alone in pausing purchases after the record high. Japan’s Metaplanet, the world’s fourth-largest corporate Bitcoin holder behind Strategy, Marathon Digital (MARA), and another major miner, XXI, also halted acquisitions over the weekend.&nbsp;MSTR’s stock has gained 1.5% this year and around 58% over the past 12 months.
