The protocol operates on its own blockchain currently using Proof-of-Work consensus, though it's evolving toward Proof-of-Stake through the planned "Crosslink" upgrade to enhance security, scalability, and energy efficiency. Zcash employs trustless zero-knowledge proofs (Halo) within its Orchard shielded pool to verify transactions without revealing sender, receiver, or amount information.   Users can choose between transparent public transactions and shielded private transactions through Unified Addresses, which work with both types. The network is faster and cheaper than Bitcoin, with new blocks mined every 75 seconds and transaction fees typically just a fraction of a cent. Privacy adoption has surged in 2025, with over 30% of total ZEC supply now held in fully shielded pools.  Zcash was created by a group of scientists in 2013 who initially proposed Zerocoin as a privacy extension to Bitcoin before building a standalone protocol. The ecosystem operates with a self-funded development model where block rewards support independent teams through the Zcash Community Grants Committee and a new Coinholder-Controlled Fund.

Conversely, critics frequently dismiss the project as a "scam" or "dead," pointing to historical price declines and ongoing concerns regarding token dilution.

Sovereign frontier cloud for AI that builds  AI agents are starting to build and operate real software. Agentic organizations are starting to coordinate people, code, data, payments, and governance. Both need a cloud that is sovereign, tamperproof, and always on.  The Internet Computer is that cloud.  Built on more than USD 500 million in R&amp;D, ICP uses advanced blockchain technology and cryptography to run entire software systems end-to-end on the network: websites, apps, services, data, payments, and governance. Code and data are protected by the protocol, replicated across independent nodes, and cannot be silently changed by a cloud provider, backend operator, or attacker.  Cloud engines make this infrastructure sovereign. They let organizations run ICP-powered compute across chosen providers, locations, and jurisdictions while keeping the same tamperproof and always-on guarantees of the network.  This is the real demand ICP serves: sovereign frontier cloud for AI agents and agentic organizations. Agents can build and update software. Organizations can run rules, assets, and governance as verifiable systems. The result is software that stays online, keeps its data, and remains under the control of its owners.  Developers and AI agents can build on the Internet Computer with any AI assistant using the ICP skill library at skills.internetcomputer.org, or by creating apps through conversation with Caffeine AI.  Computation on ICP is paid for by converting $ICP into cycles. $ICP is also used for staking and governance through the Network Nervous System.

The network operates as a fork of LuckyCoin, which itself was a fork of Litecoin, using a proof of work consensus mechanism. It employs the Scrypt algorithm to ensure the mining process remains fast and efficient, with new blocks processed every 60 seconds. A unique technical feature is its use of merged mining, allowing miners to secure Dogecoin simultaneously with other Scrypt-based networks like Litecoin.  To keep transaction fees low and the network running indefinitely, Dogecoin features an uncapped supply where new coins are added forever. In a major regulatory milestone in March 2026, a joint SEC and CFTC framework officially classified Dogecoin as a digital commodity, placing it in the same asset category as gold or oil.

Subsquid is a response to unscalable and rigid monolithic indexing frameworks that had previously gained popularity and market traction among Web3 developers. Today, these frameworks are struggling to adapt in a rapidly evolving blockchain environment. Additionally, the network serves as a highly efficient and decentralized alternative to centralized infrastructure firms, including large RPC and API providers.

Attention is centered on reported Google Cloud validation of Rezolve's proprietary distributed database technology and its connection to Subsquid, reinforcing the broader enterprise-adoption narrative. Bullish traders view the development as major infrastructure validation, while some skeptics argue the benefits to the SQD token itself remain unconfirmed.
