$BP BP guided Q3 net debt to 13.5 to 14.5 billion dollars, down from 22.3 billion at the end of Q2. That is already at the low end of the 14 to 18 billion target it set for the end of 2027. Brent actually fell in the quarter, to 96.99 from 103.85. Refining did the work: indicator margin 46.70 a barrel vs 29.60 in Q2, with realized margins adding 1.9 to 2.1 billion dollars sequentially. Same statement flags 3.0 to 4.5 billion dollars of post-tax impairments, mostly in the transition businesses.

$BP I'm bullish on British Petroleum because I believe the company is getting back to what it does best: oil and natural gas. In my opinion, BP spent too much time and capital pushing heavily into wind farms and other alternative energy projects while moving away from its core strengths. The energy market has shown that oil and natural gas aren't going away anytime soon. They're still essential to transportation, manufacturing, electricity generation, and the everyday products we all depend on. What I like about BP's direction now is the renewed focus on profitable oil and gas production and disciplined investment. Rather than chasing every trend in the energy transition, BP appears to be putting more emphasis on businesses where it has decades of experience and where demand remains strong.

BP shut production at its Na Kika and Thunder Horse platforms in the Gulf of Mexico and evacuated all workers from both facilities Thursday as Hurricane Isaias approached the region. The company also removed non-essential personnel from three additional platforms—Argos, Atlantis and Mad Dog—as a precaution, according to BP. The measures highlight the potential impact of the storm on U.S. offshore oil and gas production, with operators prioritizing worker safety and securing facilities before the hurricane arrives. Shell and Chevron had already announced Wednesday that they were reducing offshore operations in the Gulf of Mexico ahead of the storm. $BP $XOM Wells Fargo made it a pair trade: upgraded BP to Overweight from Equal Weight and raised the target to 57 from 48, while cutting Exxon to Equal Weight from Overweight with its 182 target unchanged. The tell is in the asymmetry. Wells Fargo did not lower its view of Exxon, it changed its preference. Analyst Sam Margolin argues BP's 2027 EV/EBITDA multiple is nearly half that of its US peers, and that gap has historically preceded BP outperformance. The mechanism is the balance sheet. Wells Fargo expects commodity and trading conditions to pull forward BP's 14 billion debt target, and sees financial debt dropping to about 6.2 billion by the end of 2026 on Castrol sale proceeds plus cash flow. $BP 26 / 100 [Marathon] Oil looks like it completed a major 4th Wave with the 2020 crash and is now in Wave V. It is setting up for a major drop going into the next recession where tech/AI stocks will get hit the hardest, and then run again in the next bullish cycle. I will look into this later, but I think some oil small caps / micro caps can run 50x, but ONLY if you buy at or near the next major bottom in 2028/2029. This is the path I believe is most likely~
